Hello There!
So, the other day a client said something that made me laugh out loud.
He goes, “You’re filling in the gaps I didn’t even know were there.”
I said, “Yep, that’s what I do.”
That’s the part most people don’t realize.
In today’s issue, I want to talk about what it really means to “rent a brain”, and why it could be the smartest move you can make for your business.
Let’s get into it.
Renting Brains

When someone hires me as their virtual assistant, yes—I’m updating their blogs, creating their email campaigns, scheduling their newsletter and cleaning out their inboxes of forty thousand emails.
But what I’m also doing is….
I’m thinking alongside them. Sometimes ahead of them, because I want for them what I want for myself…to work with people who want to see my business grow.
When I notice that things don’t make sense, I point it out, gently of course. I always try to reveal the cracks in the process and fix things that they didn’t even realize were slowing them down.
You see, if you’re in the online space like I am, your clients are hiring you for so much more than a package. For example, if you’re a copywriter, strategist, coach, or consultant, clients want to hire professionals who are tuned in to their business and help them to move the needle forward.
When they purchase that package, they’re also paying for your judgment and intuition. Your ability to see what they can’t.
At the end of the day, most clients are not only looking for support, but strategic thinking as well. An extra brainpower.
And here’s the thing that irks me:
Many of us have downplayed this part.
We call ourselves “just” a Virtual Assistant, or “just” a Copywriter.
We undercharge and overdeliver.
We can’t forget that our brain is the offer.
Not just the time and the task.
When someone hires us, they’re hiring our ability to think, solve, and simplify, or see what they can’t.
So next time you send a proposal…
or a new offer…
Pause.
And remember they’re not just buying your time.
They’re renting your brain. It is valuable.
That deserves recognition and, of course, compensation that reflects it.
Chuckle of the day! 😂
“If you’re renting my brain, please return it in better shape than you found it.”
