I live on a quiet dead-end street, the kind where we all sort of know each other and wave as we pass. Recently, one of our neighbors threw a graduation party for their daughter because she just finished kindergarten.
There were cars lined up along our little street, purple and white balloons for decoration, burgers on the grill, and fun music playing
As we drove by, I noticed a group of the kids under a tent playing musical chairs. You know, the game where the kids circle the chairs and wait for the music to stop? And when it did, there was one less chair and one less kid still in the game. If you were left standing, you lost.
Watching them brought back such fond memories of my own childhood. But it also hit me in a different way.
Because I realized… I’m not a kid anymore. And life is not that simple.
Musical Chairs

As a solo professional, sometimes running a business can feel like a game of musical chairs.
The “music” never stops. In our world now as entrepreneurs, it’s keeping up with social media trends, figuring out platforms and learning how to use AI, and pretty much all the things.
And when that music does stop, we start to scramble.
We lose focus.
We try to speed up.
We copy what others are doing.
We do whatever it takes just to “stay in the game” because we’re afraid that we’ll fall behind.
And all of that scrambling comes from the belief that there are not enough chairs for everyone in the world of business.
And that’s a lie.
A BIG one!
Sure, the stakes are higher as a business owner, but we have skills and we have experience.
And the best part is, is that we can bring our own chairs.
We don’t need to run faster to earn our seat.
We don’t have to chase someone else’s business model.
We just need to focus on building something that fits us! Something that moves with our own rhythm.
The Bottom Line:
We don’t have to race for what’s already ours.
We can slow down, think clearly, and bring our own chair.
“What do you do?”
Chuckle of the day! 😂
Why don’t adults play musical chairs?
Because nobody wants to admit they’re out of seats and out of shape.
